The Oklahoma Afterschool Network is growing! The Oklahoma Afterschool Network, a statewide initiative of the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy, is searching for a dynamic professional to join our team as a full-time STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Project Coordinator. This experienced and skilled person will be responsible for directing Oklahoma’s Project LIFTOFF and the Network’s STEM system-building partnerships, resource development activities, trainings and program outreach. The primary job responsibilities will include: Planning and implementing program and partnership development activities. Facilitating STEM-related trainings and meetings. Assisting in the design and implementation of data collection and evaluation activities. Qualifications for the position include: Bachelor’s Degree and three year experience involving program development and outreach. Preferred – experience in informal science programming. Experience in leading and managing projects within budget. Strong computer skills, including management of social media sites and website content. OKAN is looking for a person who will take the initiative in completing new tasks, is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Internship Opportunities We are currently taking applications for SPRING 2012 internships. Interns are an important and valued part of the Institue's team. Interns contribute substantially to our efforts, while gaining important skills and experiences that can be enrich their university courses. Currently, internships available with these initiatives: KIDS COUNT – Gathering and sharing data related to the annual national and Oklahoma KIDS COUNT Factbooks Policy/Advocacy – Specific activities depend upon the time of year: Fall semester internships assist in preparation of information for the upcoming legislative session; Spring semester internships assist OICA staff during the state legislative session; Summer internships work on special policy research projects Initiatives/Projects/Special Events: Assist one of OICA's numerous initiatives, projects or special events; individuals need strong organizational, writing and computer skills Issue Research: Preparation of factsheets and materials for trainings, workshops and electronic dissemination Operational Support – Office assistance to support the various OICA activities Volunteers OICA loves volunteers!
