The
Children’s Information Network (CIN) is a statewide network of
child and youth advocates working together to make a positive
impact on the policies and budgets that affect the children,
youth and families of Oklahoma. The CIN empowers advocates with
all the information they need to speak up on behalf of children
and youth!
The CIN offers
subscribers three major services:
Ø
Weekly Monitoring Report
Each week during the
Oklahoma Legislative Session, from February through May,
subscribers receive a summary of bills that have a significant
bearing on children, youth and families. It reports the status
of bills in the legislative process.
Ø
Briefings / Consultation and
Training Subscribers may attend
periodic briefings held at the State Capitol during the
Legislative Session. Legislative staff, state agency leaders,
and capitol-based advocates are often present to discuss current
legislation affecting children, youth and families. CIN also
offers technical assistance and training in the legislative
process to community groups throughout the state.
Ø
Publications
Subscribers
receive in-depth, periodic updates on measures and budget bills
during the Session. Each July, subscribers receive the Annual
Legislative Report summarizing key legislative action and
featuring each legislator’s voting record on selected issues.
