Postponing Sexual Involvement (PSI)

PSI is an evidence-based curriculum that was developed by Marion Howard, Ph.D., Professor and Chair of the Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health at Emory University, and Marie Mitchell, Director of the Teen Services Program at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.  The curriculum has been used in school and community settings across the country for over 20years.  The five PSI sessions use trained high school peer educators to facilitate sessions on peer pressure, media images and societal messages, helping the younger teens learn refusal skills to avoid risk-taking situations.
